Off sick this week

No Substack this week...

While it’s not COVID that has raced through our house, it has been an awful late-summer cold. So there was no essay for paid subscribers earlier this week, and no Friday Nudge today.

The rapacious consumerist model of free-market capitalism insists that we work when we’re sick and ignore our physical (and mental) health needs. Taking time to rest when we’re sick is resistance against the systems that have caused the climate crisis. Resting when we’re sick is climate action; it is discipleship.
