I had to stop and think about that again. So this is what comes to me this morning. First, I have been turned off by John 3:16 for a long time, because of my baptist upbringing, and the in the kingdom out of the kingdom dynamic. I've avoided preaching on it. I am sure I have, but I don't like to. I have a block. I think a lot of people must. loved the comment about Jesus and the ball game. Ha! Anyway, when I do talk about "for God so loved the world," I focus on God's love of the Cosmos. You did that, but what struck me was the emphasis on how we too should love the world, and care for the world, not just the souls of those we think aren't going to make it to the next world in the proper direction. So maybe that sums up what resonated.
Great sermon!
Thank you! What resonated with you?

Thank you for sharing, Alice. I’m glad that it touched on your discomfort and also the part that you had intuitively turned to as well.
